Mission Statement

My interest in working with wood is combined with a good technical aptitude.

I gained experience in home repair when I helped restore a classic Dutch barn in 1997.

My respect for the materials and design of yesteryear has never gone away.

Window & door construction was a form of cabinetry, something well beyond simply nailing boards together.

The moving parts operate more smoothly when stripped of paint.

I aim to provide permanent repairs to your house parts by using careful extraction processes and through preservation steps.

The repair materials include:
  • Real wood & nails.
  • Brass & Stainless screws.
  • Lots of linseed oil for older wood.
  • Resin & wood epoxy (made for wood)-it doesn’t crack, chip or crumble and it holds structural strength.
  • As well as primer or stain.

The repair process does not make vintage wood look new, necessarily, as some dents, stains and grain patterns may remain.

Putting aside paint literally, can save on future repairs and maintenance in the long run.

My repairs are for people who like the look, sound and feel of wood.
